A man studies law to help his brother and his family who have been falsely accused of murder in Japan.

静华和儿子基元、小叔子成洙以及婆婆一起生活。静华在成洙的资助下和基泰结婚，然而基泰游手好闲，还把房子抵押了出去。静华找到基泰玩乐的场所，没想到丈夫竟设局想让她被强奸并拿杀人赏金。在检察官成洙的帮助下，静华获得缓刑被释放。疲惫不堪的静华又在基泰的逼迫下运送毒品到首尔。成洙突袭藏身之处时，基泰拿枪指向成洙，静华拼命阻拦，结果基泰死亡。静华因杀人罪站上法庭，成洙成为律师为静华辩护，这时大家都以为死了的丈夫基泰却坐着轮椅出现了。

A powerful and corrupt businessman ignores his wife and children and lives with his mistress, but is arrested for his activities following the military coup of May 1962. After being released from prison, he finds his wife waiting for him in front of the jail.
